Gene Lucas (Owner/President)

Gene Lucas has been a licensed Class A Contractor in Virginia since January 7, 1981. After being a general contractor for over 30 years, Gene has spent the last 10 years focusing exclusively on all aspects of asphalt paving, including commercial paving, residential paving, and sealcoating. Gene was born and raised in southwest Virginia; having lived in Giles County until relocating to the Roanoke area in 1978. For the last 25 years, Gene and his wife Ruth have made their home in Daleville in Botetourt County. They have three children, Laura, Caroline, and Paul David. Gene has been an active member of First Baptist Church in downtown Roanoke, VA for 28 years. He has traveled to Argentina, Nicaragua, and Canada, as well as several stateside locations on mission trips with First Baptist Roanoke. Gene is not merely the president of Lucas Paving, but has had hands-on experience raking, shoveling, and rolling the asphalt, as well as running the paver and driving the dump trucks. When he is not estimating or supervising asphalt paving, Gene can be found pursuing his other passions which include hunting, fishing, skiing, and golf.

Laura Lucas (Office Manager)

Laura Lucas is Gene Lucas' oldest daughter. Laura has lived in Botetourt County for most of her life, and is a graduate of Lord Botetourt High School. Since beginning her career with Lucas Paving, Laura has had many roles. In addition to doing sealcoating estimates and office work, she is also a licensed class A CDL driver. Laura enjoys driving and operating the dump trucks, as well as hauling the various pieces of equipment to the job sites. Laura is also an active member of First Baptist Church in downtown Roanoke, and enjoys working in the church nursery on Sunday mornings. Laura also enjoys cooking, baking, and spending time with her two daughters.
